Stream of Consciousness Reflections…The Spiritual Lessons of The Pandemic…

16 Apr

Aloha dear friends/readers.

How is life treating you? I pray well.

I started this blog many years ago to reflect on life,  ideas, theories, philosophies, truths, emotions, people, the world, the inner workings of my mind, etc.

Perhaps it was also an attempt to access the locked room in my mind- my subconscious.

I have always lived a life of quiet reflection to connect more deeply with my spirituality and my self. Now I think it is the quintessential time for all of us to reflect on the life we were living and how we are living now. This pandemic and quarantine have taught us all so much. {I am aware that our lessons are tailored to each of us}.

What is still important? What remnants of the past carry over to the present? Are your ethics and priorities the same? Do you have more clarity now? Will the changes in ourselves, in others and our lives be sustainable? We will go back to how we were when this over? Hopefully, we are fluid like the ebbs and flows of the ocean.

I am reflecting on what I am supposed to learn and the hidden lessons in the chaos.

Compassion is still the highest form of love because it is spiritual love.

Altruism exists– even though the critics/haters disagree. {Unfortunately, selfishness also exists}.

We are all interconnected. We all affect each other and in some cases, we all need each other. {Perhaps now we can see the invisible threads that unite us. The ego always works to disconnect us from each other through the illusion of seperation}. In essence, we are all waves in the same ocean of humanity.

Courage can be born out of necessity.

Health is wealth.

Reflection/inner introspection is a vital and meditative activity for your soul and mind.

Fear can seduce us into paralysis if we let it.

Creative problem-solving is vital in life.

We all need to take care of our mental health {as well as our physical health}- especially now. Depression and anxiety can slowly invite its way into our lives if we are not mindful.

People mean more to us than we realized- especially loved ones or family.

What are your lessons from the pandemic and quarantine?

I would love to hear them.

I hope to share more lessons in the future…

Reflection for today…Respect Yourself -Don Miguel Ruiz & Björk

5 Jan

“Everyone has a price, and life respects that price.

But that price is not measured in dollars or in gold;

It is measured in love.

More, than that, it is measured in self-love.

How much you love yourself–that is your price–

and life respects the price.

When you love yourself, your price is very high,

which means your tolerance for self-abuse is very low.

It’s very low because you respect yourself.”

Don Miguel Ruiz, Wisdom From The Mastery of Love

I Am Nobody's Bitch 001

When I was a child my mother taught me to respect people. What she didn’t tell me is that you need to have boundaries so that people will respect you. Not only do you have to have boundaries but you have to strictly enforce them as well.

I used to be so afraid of confrontations and of speaking up. I would always worry that I might upset, hurt or offend someone. To an extent, I was also afraid of being disliked and rejected. Since I did not like myself, I was so hungry for other people’s approval {even though I did not consciously know it at the time}.

The price of this silence was putting up with some disrespect. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t regret it because I deeply regret it. I also have to acknowledge that without these experiences, then I would not have come to these realizations.

They are lessons that I am still learning and life only keeps offering you more tests.

Being “nice” is an invitation for people to test your boundaries. These days, I would much rather have respect than just be a “nice” person. It seems like a universal law that unless you respect yourself then no one truly will.

Another thing that I learned is that some people do not deserve your respect or your presence in their lives. Please let me clarify what I mean. Everyone deserves basic respect as human beings. The respect that I am speaking about is the respect that people earn through their friendship, loyalty and compassion. Some people just do not deserve that level of respect from you. Some people do not deserve your friendship, loyalty and compassion.

Trust and respect need to be earned for them to hold any gravitas/weight.

Lyrics

Army of Me

Björk

[Verse 1]
“Stand up
You’ve got to manage
I won’t sympathize
Anymore
[Chorus]
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me

[Verse 2]
You’re alright
There’s nothing wrong
Self-sufficience, please!
And get to work

[Chorus]
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me, army of me

[Verse 3]
You’re on your own now
We won’t save you
Your rescue squad
Is too exhausted

[Chorus]
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me

[Chorus]
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me
And if you complain once more
You’ll meet an army of me, army of me.”

Welcome To Transformative & Healing 2020…

1 Jan

Esteemed Friends:

Happy New Year. I can feel that 2020 will transcend 2019.

2019 was a very painful and challenging year for me. It taught me many unforgettable lessons e.g. to keep working on self-love/self-esteem/self-worth; the importance of following my intuition and putting up/maintaining boundaries; working with my shadow side; fueling a transformation/spiritual awakening/evolution; to be more discerning about who I trust or befriend, etc.

I have been detoxing from toxicity in all of its forms (e.g. toxic people/situations/behaviours/thoughts/emotions). In the past year, I have distanced myself from a person that has a toxic and dysfunctional family {namely his evil witch sister, diabolical ex-wife and possibly his son}. They thrived on gossiping, slandering/lying, backstabbing and getting sadistic pleasure from others’ pain, etc.

They smiled in your face while they stabbed you in the back. They poisoned my friend’s mind about me and turned him against me. To be honest, they had extremely bad vibes and stole my energy (i.e. psychic vampires that dabbled in the dark arts) and I am so grateful to be away from them.

When I used to see them at social events, they would drain my energy to the point of almost falling asleep. It would take days to recover from the energy theft. I feel so much lighter spiritually to not have their sinister presence in my life. They were so familiar with envy and jealousy that they probably invented the concept of “the evil eye.”

He really should have known better. He really should have known me and who I am at my core- my essence. He should have not been dissuaded by these jealous, evil and heartless individuals.

This year I will continue to focus on transformation/spiritual awakening/evolution and healing. I will keep working on my shadow side, fitness, education and other projects (which includes this blog).

This post is the first post of this 2020. I am going to release any fears and judgments about my writing/thoughts/emotions. I am just going to let them flowthis is why they are called stream of consciousness reflections. It is a creative expression with minimal editing.

I close this post with So Fresh and So Clean by Outkast. Despite all that has transpired in 2019, I am choosing to start 2020 feeling so fresh and so clean. I feel my Leo fire energy giving me strength.

The phoenix rises from the ashes.

Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanDon’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanAin’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanI love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

[Verse 1: Big Boi]
Sir Lucious gots gator belts and patty melts and Monte CarlosAnd El Dorados;

so I’m waking up out of my slumber feeling like Rollo
So follow, it’s Showtime at the Apollo minus the Kiki ShepardsWhat about a ho in a leopard-print? Ah

Teddy Pendergrass, cooler than Freddie JacksonSipping a milkshake in a snowstorm

Left her throat warm in the dorm room at the A.U
We blew hay too, athletes might cake youBut you must have me mistaken with them statements that you make ’cause

[Hook: André 3000]
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanDon’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanAin’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, cleanI love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

[Verse 2: Big Boi]
Canary yellow seven-nine Seville is on display
My n***a Bongo hooked it up, Omar gon’ dip my rims today
So a n***a can ride out to the Honeycomb Hideout
I’mma show you how to wild out like Jack Tripper
Let me be bambino on your snipples
YKK on your zipper, lick you like a lizard when I’m slizzard

Or sober, six million ways to fold ya
Like Noah’s, I get two’s of youse and you get pretty ‘D’
But I’ll call yo’ ass ’round eight-ish, I know you’ll be there for me, girl

[Hook: André 3000]
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Don’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

I love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

[Verse 3: André 3000]
Those huge baby eyes, get to runnin’ off at they mouth

And tellin’ me everything that’s on your nasty mind
They say you’re malnutritioned, in need of vitamin D
And invitin’ me to that tingle in your spine
I love who you are, I love who you ain’t — you’re so Anne Frank

Let’s hit the attic to hide out for ’bout two weeks
Rick James’n, no chains and whips
I do suck lips ’til hips jerk in double time

The boy next door’s a freak, ha-ha!

[Hook: André 3000]
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Don’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

I love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

[Bridge: André 3000]
And we are… The coolest motherfunkers on the planet
And my, my… The sky is fallin’, ain’t no need to panic
But ooh ooh… I got a stick and want yo’ automatic
Ooh, ooh, ooh… Compatible, created in the attic
And we are… The coolest motherfunkers on the planet
And my my… The sky is fallin’, ain’t no need to panic
But ooh, ooh… I got a stick and want yo’ automatic
Ooh, ooh, ooh… Compatible, created in the attic

[Hook: André 3000]
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Don’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

I love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

Don’t you think I’m so sexy? I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean
Ain’t nobody dope as me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean

I love when you stare at me; I’m dressed so fresh, so clean
So fresh and so clean, clean
