MYSOULSONICE is a door into my mind, heart and soul.

MYSOULSONICE is my love letter to the universe.

I write about anything that speaks to my soul.

I have many fascinations, curiosities and interests which I hope to explore in this blog.

I hope to celebrate writers, artists, musicians, poets, philosophers, revolutionaries, creative thinkers, etc.

I hope you can explore compassion, love, healing, creativity, art, Buddhism, new artists, music/musicians, literature, poetry, films/movies, epiphanies, ideas, thinkers/philosophers/writers, health/wellness, spiritual development/consciousness, wisdom,  critical thinking, mental health awareness/advocacy, social justice, resilience, etc.

It started out with the realization that people tend not to have time to reflect.

I started sending out inspiring quotes that I called “reflection for today” to friends and family.

I decided to send them out the friends of the internet- friends I haven’t met.

If these reflections resonate with you then, please subscribe.

I hope to inspire you and learn from you.

Thank you for your kind compliment.
I am not on tumblr yet but I was thinking of joining 😉
I am interested in your experiences of tumblr.
Do you prefer tumblr or pinterest? Or both?

Never done Pinterest – something I keep meaning to look into. Tumblr is ace! And your style would suit it.

Oh, but it’s hard to read yr contents. The tube is ace! Could th grey text be in white or something, maybe? Just a thought x

      Jas Baku…
Thank you so kindly for your compliments!

Pardon my ignorance but what is the tube?

As for the text color…I didn’t realize that it is hard to read.
Could you please tell me how to change it?
I am fairly new to word press and I would really appreciate your help.

        Sweet image thanks 🙂
Your page is most eye catching.
Uhmm, I’m not sure now, but I thought the ‘tube’ was the name of the wave’s shape?
And I can’t remember off-hand how to change the text colour, but I’m pretty sure you can. I’ll investigate later – but WP help (top RH corner) tend to be terrific.
Good luck with the blog, let me know if I can help at all (I’m still fairly new myself).

      • MYSOULSONICE August 2, 2012 at 1:30 PM #

        Jas Baku…
        Thank you for your response.
I am not sure but I think my blog theme Bueno does not allow different text colors yet.
It is confusing because under the appearance tab and clicking on custom design, Word press said, “If you want a different color scheme Bueno has you covered with a choice of seven beautiful color schemes in Appearance → Theme Options.”

Thus far I can only change the header text color and the background color in the customize tab.
The background color doesn’t actually change perhaps because I have a picture in the background instead of being blank}.

Then I investigated a little further and went to the appearance section again and clicked on custom design.
        Word press said, “Colors

Your current theme does not support Custom Colors yet. We are working to add support to most of our themes, including this one.”

Hopefully they will allow Bueno theme users to change their text colors as well.

Thank you so much for the feedback, for looking at this humble blog and for your kind offer of help.
Also, thank you for the compliment.
I post pictures that resonate with me and hopefully with others 😉
        I am deeply grateful.

        Peace & Namaste…

      Yes, you are correct.

Please tell me how you knew 😉
      Your intuition is really strong.

      What gave me away?
Am I too romantic?, Emotional? Sensitive?
What can I say, “I’m a trigger hippie” -Morcheeba 😉

      • Slayer Muser February 5, 2013 at 6:35 AM #

Ha ha! Knew it! I searched far and wide for a sign in your words, but there were none.

Let me explain. Your blog is beautiful. There are so many fascinating topics. It is too well-presented, deep and true to come from a man!

I don’t think anyone can ever be TOO romantic, emotional or sensitive, so far as one isn’t either delusional or a doormat. Romance, emotion and sensitivity are vital cogs in the spiritual wheel. Keep it rolling (and rocking).

        Love.

      • MYSOULSONICE February 5, 2013 at 4:39 PM #

        Slayer Muser…
Your comment literally made my day 😉

Thank you so much for the compliment.
        I am sincerely humbled.
I try my best to highlight beauty and even the beauty of the darker aspects of life such as melancholy, love lost, unrequited love, depression, pain, etc.
There is so much unseen beauty and perhaps we can offer a glimpse through our blogs 😉

I also agree that no one can be “too” romantic, emotional and sensitive.
I meant that because I was so romantic, emotional and sensitive, I revealed myself too much.
I revealed myself through the intimacy of how I wrote- the emotion behind the words and pictures.

It is funny but don’t you feel that blogging is the ultimate strip show?
Perhaps it is writing in general.
As much as I tried to be neutral and not speak about myself or my life, that is exactly the path that I took.
But maybe it isn’t so bad to speak about one’s life and self if it can help others in some small way, no?
We are all human at the end of the day- waves in the ocean of consciousness and humanity.

I am quite happy to be such a sensitive soul but I will admit that it does hurt.
Feeling so much, so deeply means you can also be hurt that much.

But as a good friend always used to say,

        “If YoU RiSk NoThInG,
        YoU RiSk EvErYtHiNg…”

        Peace & Love…

Will answer this, your above, soon.

First, I wanted to copy this here:

On my blog, I commented that your name reminds me of Solzhenitsyn. Having mused further, your name also reminds me of a passage in my newest and latest spiritual treasure, “A Parenthesis in Eternity” by Joel S. Goldsmith:

“This surrender of the human will to the Divine can be readily understood if we use the analogy of a cube of ice floating in a glass of water. The ice rests in the water, cradled in it: it has no power to move itself. Only the water can propel it from one place to another. The ice itself is inert, immobile, passive, its every motion dependent upon the movement of the water. Let us think of ourselves as the ice, and of Consciousness as the water, while we wait in silence and stillness for the movement of Consciousness. In other words, we must wait patiently for the will of God to make itself known; we must be as completely quiescent as the piece of ice.

Such a state can be achieved only when all desire has been surrendered because desire nourishes the personal sense of “I”-ness. As long as there is a desire, there is a projection into the future; as long as there is a regret, there is a return to the past, both of which are
dead, without substance and without life. Yesterday and tomorrow, therefore, must be discarded in newness. Now is the only life; now is the only reality; now is the only time.

There can be no desire, not even the desire to give, for that, too, feeds the sense of “I”-ness and bloats the ego. There must be a complete resting, as the ice rests in the water, or as the sap flows up from the roots of the trees into the branches to form the buds, flowers, and leaves of the tree. The ice has no concern or worry: it lets the water move it where it will. The tree has no concern or worry about whether there will be enough rain or sun in due season: it waits patiently; it does not try to interfere with the normal and natural flow of life.”

    [Page 274-275]

“The substance of the water and the substance of the ice are the same, H 2 0, and all that is true of the water is true of the ice. Whatever qualities water has, ice has. These are not two separate substances, these are not two separate qualities: ice and water are one – two different forms, yes, but they are one in essence, one in substance, and one in quality. The ice does not turn to the water for anything that the ice does not already have, but its movement is dependent upon the activity of the water.”

    [Page 278]

      • Slayer Muser February 13, 2013 at 1:58 AM #

It was a homonymic pun on Loan Facility.

You may then think: “Still, how can one be a Lone FACILITY?”

With reference to the below, think of a lone ranger who is in the business of facilitating.

        fa·cil·i·ty [fuh-sil-i-tee] Show IPA
        noun, plural fa·cil·i·ties.
        1.
        Often, facilities.
        a.
something designed, built, installed, etc., to serve a specific function affording a convenience or service: transportation facilities; educational facilities; a new research facility.
        b.
something that permits the easier performance of an action, course of conduct, etc.: to provide someone with every facility for accomplishing a task; to lack facilities for handling bulk mail.
        2.
readiness or ease due to skill, aptitude, or practice; dexterity: to compose with great facility.
        3.
ready compliance: Her facility in organizing and directing made her an excellent supervisor.
        4.
an easy-flowing manner: facility of style.
        5.
the quality of being easily or conveniently done or performed.

I stand corrected…”I THINK I WOULD FEEL LIKE A REAL WRITER IF I USED QUILL AND PARCHMENT. NOTE TO SELF: BUY THE SAME TODAY OR TOMORROW.”
Yes, technically quill and parchment would come before a typewriter.
It is an old school but its cool.
I happen to love calligraphy- the art of beautiful writing and typography {old English font specifically}.

I smiled at “IT WOULD. AND A CUTE PORTUGUESE MAID TO BRING ME TEA, COFFEE AND SANDWICHES AND WELCOME PHYSICAL BREAKS FROM OVER-MENTALISING.”
        Why a Portuguese maid?
        Just a preference…

Yes I did write “a Halmet contemplating the mysteries of life on the precipice of a invisible schism that divides time and space?”
It was really late in the wee nocturnal hours between night and pre-dawn.
Somehow it made sense at the time.

{Thank you for the spelling correction}.

Sadly, I have not written a book- only a book proposal.

I am dying to hear about your book though…
        Please tell.

    My total pleasure, Ice.

Yes, the contrast of Beauty / Light and “Dark” is fascinating and important.

Lines 5-9 of your comment above remind me of this:

Revealed / reveal yourself too much? I don’t think so. To be a true writer, I think you HAVE to write personally about yourself. The more you give, the more you get.

I’d never thought of blogging as a strip show before. This is a clever and evocative (and stimulating) image. If that is the case, strip away, girl. People adore the intimate. Thus the more you show, the more you get shown. You have the veil of your lovely quotations and images to protect you. Writing a blog without quotations or pictures would lay you bare. This is fine, but you may eventually wish to dive naked into the waves that surround this comment box. See how it feels.

    Meantime, stay real.

[P.S. I searched for some meaning to the lowercase and uppercase letters in your quotation. It gave me this: YU RS NT IG YU RS EE YHN. Unless you are a reincarnation of Leonardo da Vinci, I think those letters are meaningless. Perhaps you switch from upper to lower to reflect the up-down nature of human life? Please confirm.]

    Over and out.

      Slayer Muse…
The contrast of darkness and light fascinates me.

Thank you so much for the “American Beauty” clip.
It should come as no surprise that it is one of my favourite films.
It is so “spectacular” and everytime I see a plastic bag dancing in the wind, I think of “American Beauty.”

      About being a true writer…
I agree that you have to reveal.
You have to bare your soul.
Hopefully I will reveal more when I can.
I feel as though I am diving into the waves more now than ever.

As for the quote…I was just trying to be cool but failed.

      My friend used to say,
      “If you risk nothing,
      You risk everything.”

*No, I am not the reincarnation of Leonardo Da Vinci but I loved your comment nonetheless 😉

      Peace Friend….

        Is it a contrast?

“When a call for help comes, our first and natural human reaction is the desire to change the evil appearance to a good one. If we are to succeed in spiritual living, however, we must very quickly bring to conscious awareness the truth that the object of a spiritual ministry is not to change disease into health, for health is only one of those temporary conditions that become disease tomorrow, next week, or next year, and not to decry the evil and try to bring about the good; but rather to turn away from the appearance and keep our gaze on the Middle Path, realizing that right where there is an appearance of either good or evil, there is spiritual reality.

An evil appearance of today can change into a good appearance tomorrow, and, as we so well know, every good appearance can soon be turned into an evil one: the peace on earth one day is only a momentary pause before another war; perfect health today is only a temporary condition which germs or the calendar can change. In the human picture we are on a merry-go-round that goes round and round and round; in the human picture we sway like a pendulum between sickness and health, between lack and abundance, between war and peace, going back and forth, but never getting anywhere.

But the pairs of opposites do not operate in “My” kingdom: “My” kingdom is a spiritual kingdom in which everything is intact; “My” kingdom is under the direction, protection, maintenance, and sustenance of its divine Principle, God. In “My” kingdom there is no darkness. That statement would seem to imply that darkness is evil, but by the time we reach the Third Degree, we have risen to the spiritual stature of the Psalmist who said that “the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”

Darkness and light are the same. In the eyes of God there is no difference between them. In the spiritual kingdom there is neither light nor darkness in any physical sense: there is only Spirit, a Light which has no similarity whatsoever to what we know as light.

Light in the spiritual sense is the illumined consciousness, not illumined by a light but illumined by wisdom. “Whereas I was blind, now I see” does not refer to blindness or to an absence of sight. It is the figurative way of stating that whereas before we were in ignorance now we have attained wisdom. Ignorance is frequently referred to as darkness, and wisdom as light, but there is no actual darkness or light about them.

It requires months, sometimes years, of spiritual experience before we can realize that in “My” kingdom light and darkness are the same, and that we are not trying to change darkness into light, or to get rid of darkness in order to get light. Darkness and light are one. Grasping that concept is a big leap for anyone, but for the person ignorant of spiritual wisdom and untrained in metaphysics and mysticism, it is an even greater leap – almost an impossible one – to grasp the idea that disease and health are one. They are really just opposite ends of the same stick. When we can state with conviction, “As far as I am concerned, darkness and light are one. I am not seeking to get rid of one to get the other: I am seeking only to realize spiritual wisdom, spiritual truth, and the divine Presence,” then we shall begin to perceive the spiritual nature of this universe.”
