Reflection for today…Love’s Alchemy -Rumi

6 Feb

“O lovers
Love will lay a carpet
of treasures under your feet.

Love will fill
your drums with gold.

Thirsty ones
Love will turn your scorched desert
into a meadow of paradise.

Forsaken ones
Love will open
the doors to the King’s palace.

Love’s alchemy
will reshape gallows into altars.

Love will change
your apathy to faith.

Kings of the world
in love’s hands
you will melt like a candle.

To the parched lips of those
who are willing to surrender

Love will bring the wine
that changes darkness into vision,
cruelty into compassion
and dust into precious incense.

Those who think
the heart is only in the chest
take two or three steps
and are content.

The rosary,
the prayer rug and repentance
are paths
that they mistake for the destination.”

Please enjoy “Flames” by Vast {Visual Audio Sensory Theater}.

I really feel that it complements Rumi’s poem “Love’s Alchemy.”

Isn’t the cello along with Jon Crosby’s soulful singing so hauntingly beautiful?

“Close your eyes
let me touch you now
let me give you something
that is real
close the door
leave your fears behind
let me give you
what you’re giving me
you are the only thing
that makes me want to live at all
when i am with you
there’s no reason to pretend that
when i am with you
i feel flames again
just put me inside you
i would never ever leave
just put me inside you
i would never ever leave you.”

    Great! I’m ALL over this.

JR-M and Natalie Dormer (“particularly Natalie Dormer,” said the man) were HOT.

Great tune too. Keep ’em coming.

      Slayer Muse…
I completely agree that Natalie Dormer is a very exotic and strikingly beautiful woman.

Lets not forget Jonathan Rhys Meyers!!!
What can I say but that he is angelically beautiful.
*I know angelically is not a real word 😉

      As for the music…
Vast is such a soulful band.
I hope to post more of their music in the future.

      Have you watched The Tudors?
      I bloody love it.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers was so amazing in that role.
      Everyone was brilliant actually.
      It seemed so real.
The Tudors is one of my favourite television shows.
I want to buy the boxed set one of these days.

If you have watched it…what is your favourite season or episode?
Don’t you think Anne Boleyn was the best match/wife for Henry in the end?

      • Slayer Muser February 7, 2013 at 2:05 AM #

Yes, but is his pout really… real?!

The Tudors? Yes. Awesome. Hard to watch it too historically / analytically. The romping doesn’t allow.

JR-M was good, but his old-man voice lamentable.

Favourite season / episode / scene: Basically all the scenes with Dormer, Annabelle Wallis and Tamzin Merchant. [Holds hand up: “Guilty as charged.”]

Re H VIII and AB: Yes. They had the best chemistry and understanding. Ironic that she gave the best head, and he took her head.

          Slayer Muser…
Yes his lips are real but sadly I cannot confirm this from personal experience ;(

Jonathan has full/plump gorgeous lips like Richard Ashcroft from “The Verve.”

As for the physical/sexual intimacy in The Tudors…I felt it was necessary to tell the story.
Showtime probably allowed so much of it so that people would actually watch a historical drama on television.

Ice, I do not doubt his lips are real. My question is: Do they stick out naturally, or does he push them out (even ever-so-slightly)? Either way, you have my sympathy for not being able physically or personally to confirm.

You are right about the producers’ method for attracting viewers.

I remember my favourite scene (didn’t take too much rummaging around my mind to find):

      Slayer Muser…
It doesn’t matter if he is pushing them out at all.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ lips are angelic.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers in The Tudors
Yes, it is such a sadness to not be able to confirm this observation 😉

Thank you for sending me “the forest scene.”
It also happens to be my favourite intimate scene.
{I am probably blushing right now}.
      We think alike.
