Jimmy lit our fire; a true original; the incomparable Lizard King; my personal favorite lyricist and uniquely dangerous poet of the last half of the twentith century and prophet of the last hand made decade; the 1960’s. You’re tapping into the cream of the crop. No one connected more spiritually with our high than Morrison back in the day. The influence of Hendrix, Joplin and Morrison scared the power elite so badly that they could not ne allowed to live. Kudo to you for honoring him and what he stood for.

Jim Morrison
wasis an intriguing and wild soul.I hope that he will be remembered for his poetry because he was quite the poet.
He was such a “dangerous poet” because he believed so deeply in freedom and creativity; challenging the status quo; engaging in self-discovery & spirituality; independent thought/critical thinking and questioning of authority.
*I find it so fascinating that he was so into shamanism.
Many life times ago, I was lucky enough to come across a first edition of his poetry book “Wilderness.”

{I hope the person that I gave it to still has it}.
I am working on a post about his spoken word/poetry album “An American Prayer.”
There is so much more work to do so for now it stays saved in the drafts folder.
In the mean time, I will feature him in a reflection for today post when the time is right.
I would love to hear more about your love and appreciation of Jim {since he is your favourite lyricist}.
And yes, I agree.
He lit our fires.
There is no one like him and probably never will be again.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
I always look forward to reading your insightful comments.
